RECYCLE CLASSROOM ON WHEELS
Green Living Science (GLS) has been providing field trips on behalf of Detroit youth for many years and understands the challenges teachers face in providing an engaging and unique experience for students. Limited budgets, ever-growing class sizes, and transportation issues are just a few of the obstacles teachers face when scheduling field trips for their students. To combat the challenges teachers face in putting together field trips, GLS is proud to introduce the Traveling Plastic Recycling Workshop!
The machines are fully functional and were built using blueprints from Precious Plastics. The machines will be housed on a trailer that can be easily towed to schools, allowing students at the workshop to watch complete demonstrations of the plastic recycling process in action!
While students attend the workshop, they will learn about humans' use of disposable plastics and the impact disposables, from microplastics found in the ocean to litter found on the sidewalk, have on our planet. An understanding of plastic pollution will encourage students to make changes in their own lives to help become part of the solution.
We are currently in the market for a V-Nose - Enclosed Cargo Trailer: 14-16 feet long, 7 feet tall, 6 feet wide. This will be what we tow to schools and will use at the base of the experience. In transit the trailer will store the machines, benches and other materials. Once at the school, machines will be pulled out and benches set up to create a demonstration area on one of the trailer. Inside the trailer students will be able to understand the history of plastics and their impact on our environment.
both machines are mounted on a small cart that is 80”x55”x77'“ this must fit inside the trailer
3 benches that fit about 6 students each - must be movable to set up for demonstrations outside of the classroom
storage and display shelving required
environmentally sustainable, economically realistic
