FIELD TRIPS & TOURS

March through November, Green Living Science provides field trips and tours of:

Recycle Here, the City of Detroit’s drop off recycling facility

Lincoln Street Art Park, the acclaimed hidden gem to visit in Detroit

DETAILS:

Bring materials to recycle and receive an in depth explanation of how to recycle in the City of Detroit. By visiting the recycling center and hearing how Detroit processes waste, students learn how they can make changes in their home to reduce their impact on the environment. Visit www.RecycleHere.net for a list of what can be recycled.

Tours also include a visit to the Lincoln Street Art Park to learn how the process of “reuse” can create a vibrant urban setting. Inside the art park students will experience Green Living Science’s outdoor classroom made from a 40 foot shipping container and created entirely from found and reused materials! Students will also explore the art park’s earthship which is a sustainable building created from locally sourced garbage during the art park scavenger hunt!
