NATALIE JAKUB, Executive Director
Natalie has been working with Green Living Science since 2013. She started as an AmeriCorp*VISTA as the Volunteer Coordinator and stayed in the position for two years helping us build our database of volunteers. Natalie graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Marketing and later obtained a Master's degree in Social Foundations - Eco-Justice Education. Natalie is also a certified TRUE Advisor helping facilities achieve zero waste and is the chair of the Recycling and Waste Reduction subcommittee of Detroit City Council's Green Task Force.

MARY CLAIRE LAMM, Education Director
Mary Claire has been working alongside children since 2004 when she started as an after school youth counselor. After watching the forests around her childhood home develop into suburbia she discovered her passion for conservation. Mary Claire graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Sustainable Development. She started as an AmeriCorps*VISTA in 2012 and helped to expand the recycling curriculum that GLS utilizes today!

SAMANTHA PICKERING, Education Coordinator
Samantha started as a volunteer in 2012. She later was a summer intern while completing her degree in Environmental Studies with a focus in education at U of M Dearborn, where she also worked as a Student Naturalist. Her passion for raising awareness about the relationship between humans and the environment is what drives her to continue her work in Detroit. In 2017 Samantha started teaching yoga and meditation at the youth summer programs. She loves the connection between mindfulness practices and environmental education because she believes it results in a greater sense of personal responsibility.

JACOB HILL, Marketing & Program Coordinator
Jacob has a background working with parks and universities, this is where he fostered his passion to be at the intersection of conservation and education. "What better place to be on the forefront of change than the heart of Michigan, Detroit!" Jacob graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Professional Writing, with a focus in Communication & Environmental Sustainability.
