We are extending a warm welcome to our new Community Engagement Intern Isabel, or Izzy!
Izzy is originally from Michigan and grew up spending a lot of her time in the outdoors and developed a deep love for nature. Isabel’s family has always been super passionate about environmentalism and from a young age she learned all about the importance of recycling. That passion continued even through college where she was often known for derailing conversations by delivering fun facts to her friends, teammates, and peers on how to properly recycle.
Izzy recently graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in conservation biology and ecology. While there, she learned not only about the inner workings of our environment, but also the important role that humans play in keeping our planet healthy. Izzy’s original goal was to become a marine biologist but during her third year in college, after taking an environmental justice class and discovering a passion for environmental advocacy, she decided she wanted to pursue a career in just that.
Isabel decided to work with Green Living Science because she was inspired by our mission, and wants to help the organization reach our goals in any way that she can. Izzy is most passionate about connecting with the community, finding ways to advocate for those around her, and inspiring the next generation to fall in love with nature.
Outside of enjoying nature any chance she gets, Izzy enjoys spending time binge watching TV shows with her sister, coaching gymnastics, and learning to play the electric bass guitar. Isabel is excited to be working with Green Living Science and can not wait to continue to get involved!
If you would like to connect, Isabel's email is Isabel.Redmond16@gmail.com.
